Join our Ministers of Hospitality!

     Ministers of Hospitality/Ushers at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church serve God by
     offering their Stewardship of time and talent in order to minister to our brothers and
     sisters through acts of hospitality that welcome all into Sacred space for Divine Worship.  

     By warmly greeting the people of God here at our Parish, Ministers of Hospitality
     are in fact the first to greet and welcome Jesus in each of us and thus  “Usher in” 
     the Mystical Body of Christ to each and every liturgical celebration,  as well as 
     perform other various duties and responsibilities as required of them. 
     
     Many hands make light work and we need a few more hands...especially at  the 4:30 pm, 
    8:00 am and 10:00 am Masses. Please prayerfully consider giving of your time!

An Usher’s Prayer
 
Lord, you make all kinds of people,
even people like me. 
In your love, you gather them all into your Church.

As you gather your people this day,
help me to serve them in a Christ-like manner,
even as your Son served those who gathered about him.

Make me prayerful and patient, helpful and understanding,
and may I radiate the joy that faith brings as I serve their needs.
Give me your strength to support my fellow ministers.

May all who assemble to celebrate our common faith in the risen Savior
be glad of heart for being here and for having encountered your Son in
one another, in Your servant-priest, at the tables of the
Word and Sacrament, and through the Ministry of
Hospitality… Ushers like me.

 I ask this in Jesus’ name.
